The men behind the scenes…

Our athletes have arrived back in Zurich safe, sound and full of overwhelming experiences.

But behind our successful and strong athletes there were equally successful and strong people, who deserve being mentioned. Without them the team trip wouldn’t have come to an end with such an abundance of photographic, cinematic and editorial memories.

On one hand there is Rainer Eder (below left). Austrian-born and living in Switzerland for many years. As professional photographer for extreme outdoor sports with focus on free-climbing, skiing, mountain biking and river rafting he collaborated i.a. with the best rock and ice climbers of the world and hence he was the perfect man behind the photo camera. We owe to him those great images for our blog!

A further specialist for photographs on impassable territory – Christoph Frutiger. As free-lance film-maker he lives in Interlaken with his wife and his two daughters. His know how is in demand internationally, whether for snow scenes for the latest James Bond movie or action shootings for Spielberg’s popular TV series about the 2nd world war. There was enough action during our team trip and the premiere success of the current year’s EOFT (European Outdoor Film Tour) will prove him right.

Last but not least there is the man who provided us with editorial inputs – Robert Steiner. German-born and married to a Kyrgyz, he was not only acting as a journalist, but especially as a tour organiser. He has been travelling the country for many years and gets lots of insight behind the scenes through his wife. Next to his function as a journalist he also works as an author and published the book “Lorenz Saladin: Tod am Khan Tengri” (in English: death on Khan Tengri) together with Emil Zopfi.
