The Rega provides information about altitude sickness

The Swiss air rescue service (Rega) was responsible for providing medical care to all participants at the one-week Mammut Anniversary Basecamp at an altitude of 3,500 metres. As part of this service, from 2 to 7 August 2011, well-equipped Rega medical staff were on-site around the clock. A rescue helicopter was also on standby in the immediate vicinity of the Basecamp each day in case of any emergencies.
